Maskipaps: The CrossOver

Maskipaps: The Crossover is the ultimate afterparty for the UP Lantern Parade and the biggest student-run music festival in UP Diliman. Since its debut in 2014, it’s been all about celebrating OPM and EDM, featuring a mix of classic, mainstream, and emerging artists. Held every second week of December at the iconic UP Sunken Garden, Maskipaps 2019 drew its largest crowd yet—17,000 attendees from various universities across Metro Manila—rocking out to performances by Ben & Ben, Kamikazee, Hey, Billie!, This Band, DJ Marc Marasigan, and more.

This event perfectly captures the spirit of the Beta Epsilon fraternity, promoting national pride and university excellence by spotlighting local talent and important causes. Maskipaps 2019 even caught the eye of People’s Television Network’s SDG Tambayan, highlighting the event’s commitment to responsible partying and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals. In light of collective effort of different sectors of the country’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, Maskipaps 2019 earnings also helped in funding Maskipaps: Tulong sa PGH, a project that provided 10,000 high quality isolation coveralls for the medical frontliners in the Philippine General Hospital (PGH). This is another testament of how the UP Beta Epsilon Fraternity continues to uphold its ideals of giving back to our country through means of social service. As we celebrate 92 years of Beta Epsilon, let us recognize the chain that links all the brothers together — the chain connecting the brightest scholars and leaders; different individuals from different walks of life coming together and living the fraternity’s ideals of love, trust, and sacrifice towards their fellow brothers and those around them.
